APPOLICIOUS ADVISOR RATING:

3 of 5 bars
  • PRICE: Free
  • TASTY: Shop for hundreds of different things, if catalogues are your thing.
  • BUMMER: Navigation can be a tad confusing at first.
  • COOL: Save searches for later.

Catalogue shopping isn’t dead. It’s alive and well, and works reasonably well from your Android-based tablet.

Catalogue by TheFind offers a large number of catalogues from many big-name stores like Crate & Barrel, Crutchfield, Brookstone and Sephora. Some allow you to browse through them and enjoy the pages like a catalogue, or you can go deeper and view individual products. If you see something you like, it’s simple to select the item and be taken to the website to purchase it. Specific searches can be saved, or you can bookmark your favorite catalogues.

The navigation is not particularly intuitive at first, but becomes familiar with use. It still might be easier to simply comparison shop on the web and  use that full-screen tablet browser instead. That way, you get to take advantage of all those user reviews out there and special offers.

Still, this app definitely offers a relaxed way to view thousands of products from hundreds of great stores.
