GeoQpons is a must-have app if you're a coupon-clipper. From your favorite top retail brands to local businesses, GeoQpons lists tons of discounts and offers every single day. In a time when everyone seems to be pinching pennies, this mobile coupon app helps you find coupons relevant to your life, and ensures that you won't ever accidentally leave your envelope of clippings at home.
Businesses are always sending out coupons, which tend to show up in your snail-mailbox and email, stapled to a pizza box, or occasionally come from the pages of your favorite magazine. But, based on my own experience, I find that just stumbling upon coupons in this way means that they seldom get used. If I want to remember that these coupons exist, and actually use them, I have to carefully organize them, and put them in a safe place.
What I especially like about GeoQpons is that I will never have to worry about organizing my coupons again. This app puts you in control of the coupons you come upon, and stores them in a safe place that's not your cluttered kitchen drawer. Because they're on your phone, you can then get at them, on the go, whenever you need them. Then, when you're checking out at the grocery store or your favorite clothing store, you hold up your phone so the cashier can scan the coupon's barcode.
To get started, launch the app and check out the bottom of the screen. There are five tabs: "Brand," "Local," "Tools," "My Favorites" and "Profile." The tabs "Brand" and "Local" are where you actually find coupons. Under "Brand," you can search by new offers, all offers or category. Local appears to limit search by category, and uses your phone's GPS system to determine your proximity to these businesses. The coupons are listed in order by the businesses closest to you.
I'm especially excited about the app's search feature. If you don't want to take the time to sift through all of the listings, you can search by business name under both "Brand" and "Local." I can see myself developing the habit of conducting a search every time I enter a place of business.
As you flip through the database of coupons, you'll probably spot a few that you like. To save these for later use, just tap the star button. These offers will be cataloged under the favorites tab so you can quickly access them when you need them.
Within "Tools," you can create your own customizable shopping lists. The app gives examples like clothes, groceries and office, but you can add as many of your own categories as you like. There's also a wish list, savings calculator and a barcode scanner.
One complaint I have about this app is the fact that when I wasn't exclusively searching via "New Offers," I ran into a few expired coupons. It's not the end of the world, but I advise users to double-check the dates on any coupon before saving it to favorites.
This app is not only very easy to use, it's also an exceptionally useful piece of technology. This not only saves time spent clipping coupons, but it saves time fumbling through your purse or pockets for small slips of paper.
