United States Constitution (Free)

Let’s kick things off with a bit of history. The Declaration of Independence, reproduced in its entirety within the United States Constitution app, is the main reason we’re celebrating the July 4th holiday after all. The entire app is fully searchable, includes annotations and can be read by article, section or amendment. Check out the constitution timeline, Articles of Confederation and Gettysburg Address too. Quiz questions will follow.

Camp and RV ($4.99)

Heading into the great outdoors this July 4th weekend? Keep the Camp and RV app on your Android phone and you’ll be able to find great campgrounds, RV parks, and related services throughout the U.S. and Canada. Locations are conveniently plotted on a map and using GPS, you’ll have no problem navigating to them. With over 19,000 campgrounds within the database and tens-of-thousands of additional places of interest like state parks, supply stores and RV dealers, this app is sure to be an essential one this July 4th and throughout the summer.

Omaha Steaks Steak Time (Free)

Maybe you’re just going to stay close to home instead, perhaps wheel out the grill, fire it up and cook some tasty meat. In that case, the Omaha Steaks Steak Time will come in handy. There’s a whole heap or recipes here for the red-meat lover, and it’s all nicely organized with informative videos, food prep advice, and even a handy timer so you can ensure every steak you throw on the grill is cooked perfectly to order.

3D Skyrocket Live Wallpaper (Free)

Even if you’re heading out to watch a local fireworks display close to home, why not bring them to your Android device too? What sets this particular live wallpaper apart from the many other fireworks-oriented ones in the Market is its diversity. Offering 18 different blooming effects, realistic smoke and clouds and vivid firework trails, this is a fun, colorful background for your home screen that’s sure to raise a few “oohs” and “aahs.”

Postagram (Free)

After spending time with friends and family, or if you simply want to share that great shot you got of the fireworks, Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr may all be well and good, but how about something a little more personal and permanent? With Postagram, you can select one of your favorite photos and Postagram will deliver it anywhere in the world for a mere 99 cents on a thick, glossy postcard. Attach a personal note and it’s sure to create a memory of your Independence Day that will last a lot longer than a simple tweet.
