Four fabulous, free dating apps for you and your Android

by Kate Currin

Android apps offer an amazing abundance of dating options, yet few people seem to be using them. Here are some dating apps for Android that sexy single ladies and brooding gentlemen need to start visiting ASAP.

Flirt Maps

As soon as you select the Flirt Maps icon, up pop possible dating matches. Flip through with a slide of your finger to view tons of singles advertising themselves in the hopes of meeting Mr. or Ms. Right. This is one of the more intuitive dating apps I've seen in the Android Market, and I love that you can flip through people's pictures before you even sign-up for an account. The free Flirt Maps app for Android gets it right. Photos take priority in this app, with an emphasis on screen name and headline. Select the menu option to pull up details, send a kiss, message, add, block, or localize each possible date. Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of users in the United States at the moment. So start joining, Android users! You can register using your Facebook account.

meetMoi NOW

The meetMoi NOW app is a location-based dating app with your security as top priority. All profiles are vetted before approval. Once your profile is approved, the app sends you possible matches. You have 60 minutes to say yes or no to a match. Once you both approve each other, then your location is revealed. What if it's the handsome man sipping cappuccino next to you, or the hot girl reading your favorite book on the bus? I can't take the suspense! Sign-up now, and start populating this genius location-based dating app.

If you are looking for a little playful flirting via your Android phone, check out the free MiuMeet app. Setup is simple, and there is no approval process in this dating app. Next, pick between the groups that you want to find someone in: all, flirt, party, games, sports or more, as well as distinguishing between friends and visitors. I started with flirt, which prompts you to pick between 18+, straight flirt, gay flirt or lesbian flirt. This app makes me extremely nervous with its lack of security features, and could be somewhat dangerous in the hands of teenagers. But, if you're looking for a little digital flirting, it's perfect. Just don't release any of your detailed personal information to people you meet, just in case.

The free Flirtee app opens with the ability to log in via Facebook, or skip to the next screen to fill in your date card. Once you set up your account, options pop up, and you simply have the option to flirt, select not interested, or send a message. Again, this Android app has few security features, so keep personal information to a minimum or non-existent. This is a great way to flex your flirtatious muscles digitally without doing so in person.
