Walgreens Android app offers prescription refills in a snap

by Kate Currin

The free Walgreens app is designed to help the wellness retail chain's existing pharmacy customers fill their prescriptions with ease. The highlight of this app is the function to simply scan the barcode of your prescription with your phone's camera in order to refill.

For the masses, the app has a handy map function to plot your local Walgreens that are offering flu shots or just use the app to find the closest store to your current location (but you don't really need to download an app just for that). Walgreens also offers "take care clinics" at many of its location, which offer everyday health care seven days a week, with no appointment necessary. Find the closest clinic to you with a simple search from this app.

If you're a coupon clipper or discount hunter, you'll like the quick access the app offers to Walgreens weekly sales ads. If you see something on sale you want, but you aren't in the vicinity of a Walgreens, the app offers a quick link to shop online with Walgreens.

And last, but not least, Walgreens also offers photo-printing services. Use this app to order photos straight from your phone, so you don't have to bother uploading to your computer.
