Foodspotting Android app even more a foodie heaven thanks to latest update

by Kate Currin

The free Foodspotting app for Android has grown up! You can now integrate Foodspotting with Facebook and your activity in the app shows up on your Facebook timeline. The app also has a handy search function on the main toolbar now, which it didn’t have when I last reviewed the app in March 2011.

My favorite feature of Foodspotting is that it puts the food in the spotlight. I’m a visual person, so I’d rather see how my potential entrée or dessert is going to look than hear it described. Exception to the rule is the live lobster that Morton’s Steakhouse brings out to the table. So sad! Please don’t take a photo of the lobster and post to Foodspotting unless it’s cooked.

Overall, this foodie app for Android is very easy to navigate. Just open the app and browse tasty photos of delectable dishes spotted near you. Users can also browse user-taken food photos by most-recently added, best rated by users or from friends or neighbors you’re following. Foodspotting also now has a section on local specials at restaurants, cafes and more.

Star your favorite food photos so you know where to eat next. Then make sure to upload some of your most-craved meals, as well, with a photo to Foodspotting and your timeline. This scrumptious app is the perfect way to locate new meals near where you live or work, even when you’re discovering new cities on vacation. It’s foodie heaven.
