Scanlife

Average barcode reader
ScanLife is an app that seems to be gaining more popularity. Whether in magazines, the internet, products, marketing material and a whole slew of other places, ScanLife can connect you to more information on the product. Sounds pretty handy, but there are flaws.
For Android users you use your camera on your phone to scan a bar code or EZ code. The app then searches it's database to link you to more information or to whatever the creater has linked it to.
This app is very accurate for EZ codes and is extremely handy. I scanned various things online and in magazines and it worked flawlessly.
When it came to bar codes on products, this application fails more often than not. For example: I scanned a Kraft Peanut Butter bar code and got forwarded to an Axe body wash kit. Strange. I then scanned another product that I picked from the cupboard, and got directed to the same Axe body wash kit. I scanned my shampoo and it brought up the correct company of the product, but not the correct type of the product. The more I scanned things, the more this application failed.
Which brings me to the point of why so many people download this application; it works for EZ codes but not very well at all for bar codes. A hit and miss application, if that's your sort of thing.
