Android App User Reviews

similar to BeJeweled

If you are looking for BeJeweled type action that is fast, this is it. Feels better than BeJeweled on Android. Since we are missing BeJeweled 2 and Blitz, I was looking for something a little faster and more exciting. This is that app.

Google Tasks

This app fills in the gap left by Android's baseline apps. We already get GMail and Calendar, but Google Tasks are missing. This app files that voice. It's syncing is instant. Couldn't live without it.

Need this app

Android has no support for WAV format audio, which is what my business voice mail uses when sending me an email copy of my voice mail. This little gem allows me to listen to my emailed voice mail.

Awesome!

I downloaded this and ROM Buddy. Finding all kinds of SNES games to play. So much fun, definitely worth the money!

Not as good as the iPhone App

Android has a huge market share. The App Developers really need to make this as seamlessly functional as the iPhone app. This is almost an android deal breaker for me. Some links in the app take you to the mobile Facebook page. ugh...

No Distractions Helps Us Focus

  • App review for Meeting Mute Widget

With Meeting Mute Widget, my phone doesn't ring when I'm in a meeting any more. It checks my calendar and mutes the phone when I'm in an appointment or meeting. I love it!

I liked the widget but it sucks too much battery

The twitter client was fairly standard. I liked the option of the widget but it sucked too much battery. Seesmic was constantly in my top 5 battery drains even when I didn't use it.

Fun distraction but unreliable

  • App review for Foursquare

Foursquare is a fun distraction but the app doesn't keep up to where I am. I'm constantly am having to refresh the location, frequently it's wrong or the servers are overloaded. Overall disappointing and kills the fun when it doesn't work.

Awesome video player

Rockplayer has played every video I can throw at it on my nexus one. Even 720p .mkv and it looks beautiful. No need to convert to a lessor format. Occasional audio sync problems but other than that perfect.

Awesome for Droidographers

Brilliant app for photo editing. Slide your finger to change image hue, saturation, or contrast. Add effects and borders. Really great to spruce up photos on the fly.

I Love You Kindle Whichever Platform I'm On

  • App review for Kindle
  • Posted by sharakarasic August 23, 2010
  • Recommended for Book Readers

How happy I was to tap open my new Kindle for Android, and discover the familiar books I've already downloaded on my iPhone and iPad, also there on my DroidX. Nice to know I can read Temple Grandin's "Animals in Translation" or Marc Lesser's "Less: Accomplishing More By Doing Less" on whatever device I happen to have in my hands.

Must-Have Productivity/GTD App

  • App review for Evernote
  • Posted by sharakarasic August 23, 2010
  • Recommended for Road Warriors, Parents, Students, Career People, Social Butterflies or Tech/Social Networking Junkies

This is lovely on the DroidX's big screen. In a car ride today to Long Beach Island, I used Evernote to write the outline of a major work proposal, as soon as the thoughts popped in my head. You can tag your notes and add photos, files, or audio to your notes. Notes sync across web and mobile platforms.

Barebones Chinese Dictionary

Pretty barebones - type in an English word and shows you the Chinese characters, but a big flaw is no audio pronunciation. Not for beginners. On the other hand, you can save definitions and attach photos or barcodes.

Was Excited to Try This Out, But...

...was ready to use it with my MacBook Pro on a recent car ride where it would have been great to be online - and then I discovered it only works w/ Windows. Boohoo. Is a Mac version coming? Or does the developer assume none of us are using Macs with Android? ;-) Would love to see a review of this from my brethren and sistren (?) who are Windows users.
