My wife loves this app

  • App review for Spark

Another one of those "I'm bored..lets download something" apps, Spark simply vibrates the phone and draws lightening from wherever you touch. I found it amusing for the whole five minutes it grabbed my ADD attention span, but my wife still gets huge kick out of it.

Might help some dating noobs

Has some interesting one-liners. Honestly, you could probably come up with better ones on your own, like: "Hi my name is _____. I love you."

Simple App does exactly what it advertises

I got this app when I first got my phone via a recommendation from Best Buy. It simply loads my phones camera, provides a "targeting window" and captures any QR code placed in the window. capturing occurs fairly quickly, although I have had some trouble with QR codes printed on paper. simple and easy to use.

Good for keeping up on the news feed

  • App review for Facebook

Android's facebook app basically manages your news feed, invites, and messages from a dedicated app instead of through the browser. I find it useful as a boredom buster by checking on the facebook news feeds. I does lack all the features of the full facebook site, but I just click on the 'view facebook webpage' link for all of that.

Best Geek Toy Ever!

  • App review for Tricorder

I downloaded the app because some inner child part of me thought it would be cool to have something start-trek related on my phone. I was amazed by how much gadgetry goodness is packed into this app. It measure acoustic levels, monitors solar flare activity, gives me a complete readout of wireless signals, and even has a metal detector built right in. most of these tools are completely pointless, but I do whip out the EM wireless monitor at work to check client's wireless signal strength.

a slow Hack-N-Slash with a poor community

I loved the idea of a good android RPG and Parallel kingdom sounded amazing. Unfortunately my time on there has been mired by clicking on random monsters, automatically killing them and listening to hordes of myspace tweens make infantile dirty jokes and hate each other with a passion normally reserved for Justin Bieber fans. The tutorial wasn't helpful in key points, and the community was more interested in trash talk over the help channel.

A excellent, uncomplicated task manager

Advanced Task Killer lite is an ad-supported version of ATK. The google ad near the bottom of the screen is small and out of the way. The app simply gives you a list of all the processes running on your phone (excluding critical system tasks) and lets you close any you select. It's reliable, and helps clean up some of the apps that inconveniently lack close buttons

Fun, uncomplicated version of BeJeweled

  • App review for Jewels
  • Posted by ChargerIIC August 26, 2010

Jewels is an ad-supported, no nonesense version of the classic gem-swapping game bejeweled. It keeps a point score and has pretty good graphics, but the jewels are a little small for my large fingers and I have trouble selecting them sometimes.

A Much Needed Release

  • App review for Digg

The official Digg application is a nice and polished way to Digg on the go. Some improvements are needed such as designating topic views and upcoming stories rather than just displaying stories on the homepage.

Nice to Have

This is nice to have if you use your Android device as a music player. A simple and straightforward way to add music to your library on the go.

Cool, but low res only in demo mode

This is kind of like s Hipstamatic for Android. It has a ton of camera effects, although it doesn't have the fun kitschy UI that Hipsta has.

The demo is fun to play with, but you'll need to buy the pro version to save pics in anything better than low rez.

Addictive game

  • App review for Alchemy
  • Posted by kdevine August 25, 2010
  • Recommended for Gamers or Parents

While I like the Flash version on the desktop better as this benefits from a lot of clicking interaction, the Android version is no less addicting. Trying to form the elements into new objects can cause you to waste hours trying each combination. And the rush of making a new element and the "oh, yeah!" moment that goes with the realization that those two elements would make that happen (life + corpse = zombie! Of course!) is exhilarating...

Almost great

PROS: Can read ePubs.
Customizable interface.
Can read portrait or landscape.
Works well on 7" tablets.
CONS:
Organizing a large number of books becomes difficult. It should default to 'Untagged' or 'Uncategorized' rather than 'All Books'.
Deleting books is a one-at-a-time process...
