Android App User Reviews

still buggy

After all it is a beta. Like the layout. Looks like it may handle my online banking, which I haven't found a mobile browser that would. Looks like FireFox will be out soon. That doesn't mean much though because I use opera on my laptop and I think the mobile version sucks. Anyway I get a lot of force closed with this app!

Huge battery hog! Still waiting for the Flickr app of Flickr.

Weak.

While it's not technically broken or misleading, so I can't rate it 1, 2 still seems too generous.

Now don't get me wrong, I used to love web-strategy games, but this thing (and it's kind: Pets, Vampires, etc...) are nothing more than tick-watcher/money-dumper games. They are basically just web pages (not even Flash) where you click the same buttons over and over again.

Not even 10 minutes worth of fun. Don't bother.

Not very responsive and constantly crashes. I had no luck with this one.

A Nice attempt, almost only proof of concept

While I was hoping this would be the answer to facebook on android I was waiting for it turned out to be a dissappointment. It's missing features. No chat at all, some bugs. I'm not even seeing posts from my close and personal friends. If I got to the actual facebook.com I see them all there on my news feed. It's almost as if this is a proof of concept and nothing more. This thing needs like 20 more updates before it even comes close to being what it should be.

Disappointing.

I'm a huge fan of Woot!, but this app just really isn't worth the trouble.

When it updates, most of the time it fails and simply stops loading a page.

There is a separate page for each Woot! site that you have to flip through. Some people may like this, but I know I've grown rather fond of my Woot! Watcher Chrome extension, and love to see all of the sites at a glance.

Don't bother turning on notifications... especially during a Woot!-off; you'll probably be annoyed within seconds.

Really, all they would need to do to make this a killer app is provide an option to have the layout be identical to the "Woot! Watcher" Chrome extension.

It's a nice game to have while on the road, but after quite a few games it gets a repeat the same action game.

Not so useful for me as I am living outside the US. Next to that, it kept on making a connection, using at least half of my data daily.

Nice try to natively show Facebook on your Android device. But I am still missing some key features for which the app opens the browser and the mobile-version of Facebook.

Still requires some updates to really be a good app!

I would love this app for ease of Flickr sharing and management if only it didn't love to run in the background and eat my battery. I had to uninstall it to get it to go away.

Amazing set of features squashed by constant force closes

Let me be clear about one thing: Waze has every feature you could want from a GPS. It supports location-based chat, has a good GPS navigation function and lets users submit locations like speed traps and traffic accidents. It even lets you run over randomly placed virtual cupcakes for fun. Unfortunately, it crashed the first time I used it, crashed the first time I tried to use the menu, crashed again when I tried to plot an address and partially crashed when trying to navigate about town, with the graphics frozen but the audio still directing me around. Additional adventures proceeded when it refused to believe my destination address existed, which is odd since they are using the google maps API and google maps can find the address easily. On the plus side it did let me set options for my GPS marker, route preferences and even what icon I would show up as to other users. It would have been a great app if it didn't shut down constantly.

basic but funny

You can't REALLY go wrong with Jon Stewart quotes. But this app is pretty bare bones. It's good for the novelty, but it quickly wears off.

I've uninstalled this app. Not because of any problems but because of the small data base of bird calls. UI is very nice and maybe, with updates, it will be worthwhile for birders.

It works-but!!??

WTF? Why does this app start up with the phone like it’s a service and create an icon in the notification bar? It’s an app that people use to remove apps, it shouldn’t run as a service, and it shouldn’t sit in the notification bar. Sorry- FAIL

Only partially functional

I started hunting around for a photobucket-compatible app after trying to use the official Photobucket app, which is not terribly well made. Photo Explorer isn't much better. It advertises the ability to work with msot of the photo services, but only offers basic keyword search for most of them. It does support Flckr, but I don't have an account on their anyway. It also seems to have trouble finding the phone's gallery, but there's a setting to manually set this.

Meh.

I have no idea why the White Pages app can't get things sorted as nicely as whitepages.com. I get my results in a much more logical order for the same search on the website. And for some reason this app loves to run in the background and eat battery unless you remember to back-arrow out of it instead of using the home key.

Doesn't work with any of the major california grocery chains around here

ShopSavvy sounded like a great idea on paper: Scan the barcode of an item and receive the latest prices for said item in your town. My wife often shops at different grocery stores to get different deals, so this seemed like an excellent application for her to plan her shopping trips Unfortunatly none of the grocery stores in this city(Merced, CA) or in Fresno, CA are in the database. Savemart, Food4Less, Raley's, Vons, Walmart, or even Rancho San Miquel show up. Instead I'm given whatever price is available in the Kmart in Atwater, CA as the closest retailer. To add insult to injury it declared my loadf of white bread to be a copy of Barack Obama's 'Audacity of Hope', meaning I couldn't even get a search on it if I tried. Very disappointing.
