Android App User Reviews

Fire in the Sky

Skyfire works so much better than the stock browser on my G2 phone. The multimedia aspects of Skyfire makes it one of the most versatile browsers for the Android platform.

Plus, with Facebook intergration and user friendly tool bars, it's a one-stop shop for navigating the web.

Good

Though it has ads, this is pretty decent, and has a bit more info than Google Maps' traffic feature. It might not work in all metro areas, so be warned.

best traffic control game, hands down

personally, im a multi-tasker. when things get tough i like to up my game. so games like this really turn me on.

some people complain Astral Commander is too hard but they should just keep playing Air Control or with barbie apps or whatever! This game is NOT hard, as long as you use your brain. (And shoot bad guys.)

And the visuals are pretty too ^_^

Awesome Financial Calculator!

If you know how to use the HP 10bII Financial Calculator, then you'll immediately and intuitively know how to use this app. It's gorgeous, works great, and has lots of features that the HP brick doesn't have, like easy-to-enter uneven cash flows and statistical series. This thing even draws your cash flow diagrams for you!

I use this calculator whenever I want to see how good a deal anything is, or see how much I'm _really_ paying for a latte. This is an invaluable tool for teaching kids about the power of money and interest over time.

Let's see, pay $40 for a second device, or pay $6 for this app, which does all that and more? Talk about a no-brainer!

Not working at all?

Just purchased an Eye-Fi memory card and wanted to transfer the pictures to my Android device instead of the cloud. This app should be able to do that but for some strange reason I can't get it to work :(

Amazing RPG for ANDROID finally here

This is a GREAT game I haven't even got that deep down into it yet but it is an MMO for YOUR PHONE with 3D graphics. It runs so smoothly on my Samsung Galaxy S (Vibrant).

There are 3 Classes on the Try it mode not sure if there are more yet, GREAT SOUNDING MUSIC, armor and weapons and facebook connect. this is a game I don't mind having send things to my facebook because it isn't text based.

Controls are good, for movement you have the choice of using the virtual joystick or tapping on the environment. there is a skill point system DETAILED stats even for Kills and Deaths. Quests friends list, there is just so much in this game that I can't even tell you all of it. Comment on my review if you get the game!, it is FREE! though they do have a Platinum version which I may have to purchase.

Just Bad

  • App review for Pinball

The graphics of the game are acceptable, but the controls are not. Both flippers are actuated at the same time making it impossible to do what would amout to a push and slap save on a real pinball machine. I've played lots of video pinball, and the physics for this is possible. Hopefully someone will step up and make a good pinball game for Android as this is an area really lacking at the moment.

I really liked this camera app for its amazing features to take your photos back in time and the quality it puts out. The camera taking features are non existent and not in a bad way. Almost every option is accessible in one menu. You can select between iconic photo effects of places, different camera types, and different film rolls. It has more that you have to check out to try. It has cool borders as well. The processing is literally only a few seconds, less than 5. I gave it 4 stars because even though its simple to use, the GUI could use a little helping and fixing. The results are great though making up for the apps looks.

Well, without that app we wouldn't have this website. Easy way of sharing which apps you have installed. Love the recommendation and the feature articles.

Handy

Some pretty useful convertors here which could be very handy for builders. Might be better if they had some metric conversion though for folks in Europe.

Lost in New York?

This app a lifesaver whether you're a tourist to NYC braving the public transit system, or a New Yorker who is exploring an unfamiliar neighborhood or borough. It lets you download the subway and bus maps you'll need before you get underground and saves you from having to lean over other passengers at length to study the map of the New York transit system. It's particularly useful for New York transplants like myself who may know where they're going, but not necessarily the best way to get there and who are too proud to ask.

Space saver

This free app is a lifesaver when you need to make more space for new apps but don't want to go through the clunky settings menus one by one figuring which ones you can move to your SD card. The layout is simple and lets you know what you can move, as well as what you can't, and what you already have. Even more, it notifies you after you've updated an app when there's another you can move over.

I will say I've had this app crash on me once or twice, but considering how full I let the phone get before trying to use it, I'd hazard to say it's not entirely it's fault.

Keep track of your exercise

Keep track of your exercise. It has GPS so you know where you are at all times (great if you are camping or out of your neighborhood). It keeps track of how many steps and how far you walked. When you are done it will tell you how many calories you burnt off and able to save that session.
I used walking as an example. This app also tracks: running, Treadmill running, Biking, Stationary biking, Aerobics, dancing, Elliptical ( i will have to Google that), Hiking, Horseback Riding, Outdoor/indoor inline skating, Kayaking, Pilates (Google again), outdoor/indoor skating, sking, Snowboarding, Outdoor/Indoor Swimming,Team Sports, Weight lifting, Yoga and Custom.
If you use this app more than I, they have a pay version to offer too.

Seemed Good, until...

I really enjoyed this application until I made the password for when the phone is lost to: l/s and it accepted the text message to enable the security but would not accept the password to unlock the phone. So, developers, if I can't put a / in my password, please disable it.

One phone number to rule them all

  • App review for Google Voice

I love google voice. It allows me to use my google number and that in turn rings all my numbers. I can use it to collect voicemail and google will make transcript of that voicemail. It allows text messaging to phones. It really is a life safer and a great way to communicate. You can make calls and receive calls. It works and its free. Google really bought a knock out service with this one.
