APPOLICIOUS ADVISOR RATING:

4 of 5 bars
  • PRICE: $1.99
  • TASTY: Brilliantly designed puzzles.
  • BUMMER: The punishing difficulty of some of those puzzles.
  • COOL: It has lasers. It’s cool by default.

Refraction is a very well made brain-teaser of a game full of lights and lasers.

The goal of each puzzle is to use mirrors and prisms to redirect and refract lasers so that all the colored nodes on a map are hit with a matching color. Figuring out the exact placement of everything can be quite the challenge. The game ramps up quickly after a certain point, introducing even more mechanics such as colored switches and doors.

What Refraction has in good design, it lacks in presentation. There is very little sound and no music, and it can feel very dull. The game plays very nicely on the tablet device, and it is easier to control. With plenty of levels and difficult puzzles, this is great for anyone looking to buff-up their gray matter.

Refraction is a great game for the kind of intelligent people who own Android Tablets.
