Android game LEGO Creationary builds blocks of fun

by Ian Black

LEGO spring-boarded into new dimensions a few years back with video games, board games and now, mobile app games. Creationary is a Pictionary-like game that debuted as a LEGO board game. It’s simple, fun and probably best-suited for kids.

The app comes with three different sets of puzzles which suggests others might be available to download in the future. Select one of the sets, then roll the LEGO die by dragging your finger over the screen. This die features pictures, instead of dots, and how the cube lands determines which — like birds, insects, cars and tools — your turn will use.

Pictures appear in each of the four corners of the screen. For example, if the category is cars you’ll see a taxi, ambulance, fire truck and police car. Your goal: Select which picture is being formed. The faster you pick correctly, the higher your score. A funky soundtrack of bleats, burps and other kid-friendly noises accompanies the assembly.

You can share your score on Facebook, tell your friends about the game, or watch LEGO videos, all directly from the app. Adults will tire of the repetitive game quickly, but children should enjoy it for a longer time.
