Android App Video Review: Chicktionary

by Erik Fikkert

Chicktionary is a game created by the developer Blockdot. The app is essentially a unique take on the classic game of Boggle.

Your goal is to make as many words as possible with the given letters. Each chicken is holding a letter that can be tapped in any sequence. Tapping the correct order of letters to form a word will be stored in the egg carton. Each game lets you see the amount of words available from 3-letter to 8-letter words.

The game comes with two different modes to play through. The Speed Play mode challenges the player to find as many words as possible in 3 minutes. The traditional Long Play offers more of a casual experience, giving the player two minutes to find as many words as possible to earn ribbons and then lets them take as long as they would like to finish the game.

The graphics and sounds in the game are nothing special, but they fit the game just fine. The game lets players see their stats as well as challenge friends to beat their score using various social networks.

Overall, the game is simple but is as fun as any other word game of this type. It’s priced cheaply in the Android Market so check it out.
