My week wouldn’t be complete if I didn’t hear about an Angry Birds Android update at some point, and Rovio never seems to fail me. With Easter right around the corner, your favorite fighting birds are prepping for a themed Seasons update. Look for bunny ears on the pigs, painted eggs and some lovely springtime colors. Angry Birds Seasons will roll in 15 new levels, and plenty of true Easter Eggs sprinkled throughout each new challenge. Expect the Android game update sometime in the next week or so. The update comes just days after Angry Birds confirmed a major milestone for another specialty version, Rio, which hit 10 million downloads. Rovio has made a business of Angry Birds themes and updates, working some marketing magic that’s even caught the attention of Hollywood. These flying warriors seem unstoppable, as Rovio makes a point of updating its games across all platforms, with Android being a rather welcoming base for the popular titles.
Another emulator leaves Android
In other Android news, another emulator has been removed from the market, this time by the developer himself. After strings of bad comments and complaints, Yongzh has taken down N64oid, Android’s first N64 emulator, to work on it for a couple months. The news comes shortly after PSX4droid was removed from the Market by Google, shortening the list of available emulators for Android. Lucky for you, N64oid will return to the market at a later date, at no charge to those that have already purchased the Android app.
Halo MMORPG gains players, wins
If you’re hankering for another classic gaming experience ported to your Android, HALO: Mobile Edition MMORPG is scaling the ranks of the Android Market. Microsoft may have dropped its MMORPG project, but this new Android app is taking it mobile. Train your character, form an army with online friends and take them to battle. It’s a game with an epic theme, with thousands of players already joining the storyline.
