Guerrilla Bob shoots his way into the Android marketplace

by Tim McLain

For several months now, our iPhone-owning friends (and even Windows and Mac owners) have been running and gunning their way across Middle Eastern playfields and taking out the bad guys in Guerrilla Bob. Now, add Android to the list of support OSs, and not a moment too soon!

Offering console-quality graphics, matched to a dual-stick-shooter control scheme, and Guerrilla Bob is a must-install game for all on-the-go casual and hardcore shooter fans.

Players will instantly come to appreciate the attention to detail, both in terms of the precise controls and the quality of the visual presentation. You'll have zero trouble sorting friend from terrorist, which is critical, seeing as how each enemy will require a slightly different approach on your part, based on his location and weapon of choice. Keep your eye on the action to grab cash falling from the pockets of your dead foes, unlock hidden areas, snag ultra-secret power-ups, and don't miss those critical bonus items.

My recommendation? Play the app in hard mode. It will stretch your dollars that much further, and delay the inevitable end of the game, when survival mode opens up. This mode is one source of replayability for the game, and while it's plenty crazy, you'll want to take your time in getting there. There's too much to see and shoot along the way.

Boasting non-stop action across seven crazy levels set in the Middle East war zone, Android owners finally have a high-end shooter for their devices. Add in automatic installation to your SD card, OpenFeint leader boards and achievements and several killer game modes, and you've got yourself an instant classic for Android. Go get it!
