Android game Robo 3: Gears of Love is both charming and challenging

by Ian Black

If decades of science fiction have taught us anything, it's that robots just want what we all want — love. In Robo 3: Gears of Love, Robo and his robot-mate want a baby, but they'll have to gather the spare parts to build it. Fortunately, there's a military complex nearby with more than enough.

Along the journey to parenthood, Robo 3 provides challenging gaming for those who like mazes.I recommend the tutorial that guides you through maneuvering Robo through the mazes by touching on the screen where you want him to go. You'll learn how to push boulders out of your way, avoid bombs, and leverage mirrors to turn deadly laser cannons to your advantage.

Each screen provides a different set of challenges, and some mazes will take you more than one try because some missteps can't be undone. Many look easier than they are once you start. A timer keeps track of your elapsed time, and a leader board will show you how far from top bot you remain.

Try the free limited version, or pay approximately $1.58 for the full-version with more than 30 levels. In the full-version "going all the way" means using the app's level editor to create your own maze.
