Fresh Android Games for Dec. 28: Dungeon Defenders: First Wave, Drill Panic

by Caitlin M. Foyt

Today's batch of Fresh Android Games features games that will have you defending castles from hungry monsters and running from enormous boulders.

Dungeon Defenders: First Wave (Android) $2.99

Dungeon Defenders is a gorgeous 3D game that mixes tower defense gameplay with action-RPG elements. It’s a role playing game that designates players into one of four different hero classes. The game takes place in a fantasy setting where players control the young apprentices of wizards and warriors and defend against hordes of monsters. The fact that there are traps to be laid and defenses to be plotted makes it a sort of strategy game. You can choose to either play by yourself or play with your friends.

Please note that this game is larger than 600 MB and may take longer than the allotted 15 minute refund window for you download it. Make sure that your phone is on the suggested devices list before you attempt to purchase it. Android users with older devices will experience some lag and should not buy the game.

Drill Panic (Android) $1.97

This game is all about overcoming dangerous obstacles. Besides avoiding being crushed beneath a giant boulder, you must also open doors, and keep on the look out for falling spiders, shooting spears and moving walls. Along the way your character (who looks a lot like an 8-bit version of Indiana Jones) must collect diamonds, which can be used to upgrade your equipment and abilities. Because this game has some old school style graphics, gamers who appreciate retro arcade games or are nostalgic for more simpler times may really enjoy this one.
