Android App Video Review: Bubble Blast

by Erik Fikkert

When I hear about bubbles in a game I usually think about jewel games or arcade shooters like Bust-a-Move. There is one app that is taking bubbles to a different genre by creating complex puzzles. Bubble Blast is a small game for Android phones that will challenge your ability to think ahead.

The basic concept of the game is that there are a number of bubbles on the screen. Each bubble has a color level. Once a bubble gains enough hits to turn red, it will explode sending out bubbles in four directions. This basically sets off a chain reaction of bubbles that affect each other and eventually empty the screen. The game starts out slow, teaching you what the different levels mean and to think ahead. But as the game progresses, the puzzles grow harder and you will be limited to the amount of taps you get. I found myself tapping randomly at first until I realized how long it would take me to get the right combination. The graphics in the game aren't anything too special but the puzzles could keep you entertained for quite some time if you like the challenge. If you enjoy puzzle apps and don't mind the blatant advertising in the app, definitely check it out.
