APPOLICIOUS ADVISOR RATING:

4 of 5 bars
  • PRICE: $4.99
  • TASTY: Some of the best graphics of any mobile game.
  • BUMMER: Lack of multiplayer, very basic shooting.
  • COOL: You can play with any Android capable gamepad.

Shadowgun from Madfinger Games pushes the envelope of what mobile gaming is capable of on your tablet device.

The game tells a very basic sci-fi story as it pulls you through a mutant-cyborg infested facility during your bounty hunt for a mad scientist. The story is well voiced and is quite enjoyable, even if it is cheesy. The cover-based shooter gameplay feels very similar to Gears of War, though isn't nearly as complex.

While the game can be fun, the gun-play is very basic and the game can feel repetitive as you mow down enemies with simple AI. Though, the drop dead gorgeous 3D graphics attempt to make up for it. The game is both realistic and stylized, and it's a real feast for the eyes.
