With so many different file managers out there this one is a little lacking.

It does have all the functionality that we're come to expect from a file manager, but the interface is a bit clunky and doesn't seem as well laid out as some of the other top file manager apps.

This app worked fine on my HTC EVO but is laggy and has force closes on my ET4G. I've since uninstalled it and gone with another file management app.

Unstable is the word

The thing would be nice if it wouldn't crash every 5 minutes. Just put it even a little under stress and the whole thing just crashes.

The worst experience I've had was with one jpeg file that wasn't formatted properly and i wanted to copy it anyway. Hat to resort to root explorer to finish the job, this thing would just crash before it started.

So sad.... :P

A great way to manage your phone files, data, and apps. Nice free widgets too.

No need to hook up your phone to your computer to find out what files you have stored on your SD card, it works like a file manager for your phone. It is very useful if you're in the habit of downloading files from the internet as you can then manage them (get rid of the files you don't want anymore for example).

Love this app. I back up a lot of app's onto my SD card and to be honest, sometimes I prefer the older version as it runs better. (before all the ad's, ha!)

Well, I'll simply dl the latest version of ASTRO file manager and then reload my favorite programs. Yep, ASTRO is usually the FIRST app I'll dl after refreshing my phone.

I use this app everyday. I use to connect to my pc via wifi and drag files off the computer into my phone. I use it to organize files. Supports copy, pasting, moving, deletion and more. It works, hasn't force closed on me. Sometimes will lag and freeze. I have the smb add-on and can connect to smb servers such as windows and mac.
A wonderful explorer with many features. I would like something like this explorer for my mac computer haha.

The UI looks horrible but it does the job. ASTRO File Manager makes it really easy to manage files either on your SD-card or the internal memory. Can't live without it

I think I use this every day. It's a great little file manager for keeping your SD card organized, and it's really easy to use.

ASTRO looks bad, compared to others

  • Posted by balzzzy September 09, 2010

Let me start by saying that ASTRO File Manager was the first file manager that I ever downloaded for my phone. I used to think it was excellent and that everyone should have this app. Then I found File Manager by Adao Team (http://www.androidapps.com/tech/apps/313732-file-manager-adao-team).

ASTRO then looked like it had a clunky display and looked semi-chaotic with minimal organization. While the app lets you backup, has an image and text viewer, allows you to network, SMB, Bluetooth, SFTP, Zip Tar, downloader, thumbnails, search files, application manager, task manager, attachments...so does File Manager, but everything looks and feels cleaner in File Manager.

Give File Manager a try before you go paying for the full version of this.

This app should be everyones very first install! not only can you brows files on your phone/sdcard but you can copy/past/move files also. But thats not the best part... you can make a backup of every app you have installed on your phone, it will make a backup folder on your sd card and backup your apps as .apk files. apk files are the .exe files for android. meaning you no longer need to download them from the market. just open up astro file manager, browse to the backup file and install the .apk's you want. or just hit the back up tab and install all the files in one go. its that simple.
Great app and a must have for every android user.

like my review`? rate it pls :)

Excellent File/App Manager

This is several programs in one. File manager, apps manager, backup program. Absolutely excellent. It is not super easy to use, but the help screens help you figure it out.
