LadyX says: With all this hype about iPhone and Siri I decided to see what voice activated personal assistant applications were available for the Android OS. Turns out there are some that give Siri a run for it's features.
LadyX's picks
  1. Jeannie (like Siri)
Jeannie (like Siri) Jeannie seems to be a really well thought out application. The interface and responsiveness is great and for the most part Jeannie gets what I'm trying to tell her. The AI behind Jeannie is good enough to follow along with most of what you tell her, but some things are a little funky. One of the front runners for siri-like applications it does have a few flaws but once they are fixed it will be in the top 3. 2. Vlingo Virtual Assistant
Vlingo Virtual Assistant Vlingo ranks pretty high on the list of my "Siri-like" applications for the Android OS. It seems to be able to handle all of the requests that I give it and I only have a few small gripes with how it works. By far the top application that I've found for this functionality. 3. Sonalight Text by Voice
Sonalight Text by Voice While this app isn't a Personal Assistant application, it certainly seems to fill a nitch for those people who drive and text (or have their hands full in other ways). This app will read you your incoming text messages and give you the change to respond or replay. You can even compose a text on the fly. 4. iris.
iris. Iris seemed like the coolest looking app from all the ones I downloaded on my search for the best Siri-like application for the Android OS. With some love from the dev team that created this app I have a feeling it could be a top candidate. 5. Edwin, Speech-to-Speech
Edwin, Speech-to-Speech Edwin, Speech-to-Speech seems to be one of the less awesome Personal Assistant like apps. While it does have some really neat features like Wolfram Alpha, it doesn't seem to handle simple day-to-day commands as well as I'd like. If you're looking for an app that will answer complicated questions, give this one a try. 6. Skyvi (Siri for Android)
Skyvi (Siri for Android) In my search for the best Siri-like Android apps this one certainly was the farthest from what I was looking for. It does have some neat features that some of the other applications don't have such as reading your Facebook or Twitter walls.
