GirlGoneGeek says: It's been one year this month since AndroidApps.com went live. I've done 234 reviews on this site (as of right this second), and after a year of apps in beta, constant upgrades, and a booming market full of new things to try, here are the ones that really stood out - and I found ALL of these through the app recommendations and lists on this site. What favorites have you found here?
GirlGoneGeek's picks
  1. Evernote
Evernote I include this in all my lists that have anything to do with productivity, and there's a reason for that. This app is about more than note-taking. It keeps me organized with lists, synced between mobile devices and my PC, and serves as a general catch-all for thoughts and to-dos. I found this when I was first looking for Springpad, and I got hooked.
  2. UberSocial for Twitter
UberSocial for Twitter This app showed up on a lot of lists when I was looking for a Twitter client after my old version of Seesmic force-closed for the millionth time. I love the way I can manage multiple accounts easily and it renders great on my tablet.
  3. My Tracks
My Tracks What a lovely basic fitness app! This popped up in recommendations when I was looking at RunKeeper and doing some comparisons, and I liked how this integrated with my Google stuff.
  4. chompSMS
chompSMS My all-time favorite stock messaging replacement app. This was right up there with Handcent in recommendations when I first tried it last fall, but it won out and has been on my phone ever since.
  5. JuiceDefender - battery saver
JuiceDefender - battery saver I was skeptical about Advanced Task Killer, so I looked it up on here when I was considering ways to save battery on my phone. Juice Defender popped up as a sidebar recommendation, and it's done a great job with power management AND keeping my EVO running smoothly and super-fast.
  6. Pandora® internet radio
Pandora® internet radio I know, I must have been the last person to ever hear of Pandora, but this came up as a recommendation when I was looking for a music player for my phone. I settled on WinAmp for that, but I think I use Pandora even more, and it's hooked me on the Chrome extension and the Roku channel too!
