jelagasse says: Over the last 2 years, I've lost 50 pounds, and taken up weight training and running in the process. And it would have been impossible to do without help. Here are some tools that help me keep track of my diet and nutrition.
jelagasse's picks
  1. Healthy Recipes - SparkRecipes
Healthy Recipes - SparkRecipes Most of the recipes I've found through spark people have been seriously tasty, and this mobile app brings those recipes to my fingertips. Which is great, cause it make shopping for ingredients a snap!
  2. Calorie Counter by FatSecret
Calorie Counter by FatSecret This is a pretty straightforward calorie counter without bells and whistles, but I chose it because I've had it for about six months now, and it's usefulness has only grown over time. Besides having a huge store of nutrition info for popular chains, it also is able to store your most eaten and most recent meals. The longer you use it, the quicker and easier it becomes.
  3. BMR Calculator
BMR Calculator For those that don't know, your resting BMR rate basically tells you how many calories you would burn if you spent all day sitting in bed doing nothing. Knowing your BMR (which changes with your activity level/as your weight goes up or down) is a good earmark to help you set realistic calorie targets for your weightloss.
