An App-etite for Cooking  by Saperle

Saperle says: Because you can never have too much help with cooking. (Especially if you're like me.)
Saperle's picks
  1. Epicurious Recipe App
Epicurious Recipe App One of the Internet's most popular cooking sites now has an Android app! And it's just as easy to use as the original.
  2. Grocery iQ
Grocery iQ By far the best grocery-list app I've found, Grocery iQ includes features like a favorite ingredients tag, voice recognition, and a route planner to help you navigate the aisles of your local chain store.
  3. Meat Cooking Reference
Meat Cooking Reference Making a meaty meal can be intimidating, what with all the cooking-temperature rules and complicated preparations. This app is very helpful: it educates you about everything from different cuts to deep-frying.
  4. Cooking Conversions
Cooking Conversions I love this app because it has such a wealth of information. It helps you convert temperature, weight, volume, and--my favorite--amounts of selected ingredients.
  5. Pair It! Expert Wine Pairing
Pair It! Expert Wine Pairing The food-wine pairings that Pair It! provides are pretty reliable--after all, they're selected by a Sonoma Wine Country chef. You can search by dish, ingredient, or wine, but the app also offers recipes, random pairings for when you're feeling adventurous, and a notes function so you can save more information about each combination.
  6. Grubhub Food Delivery/Takeout
Grubhub Food Delivery/Takeout And if all else fails, there's always delivery--which GrubHub does really, really well. Its app allows you to search for local restaurants that deliver to your address (currently encompassing thirteen US cities), check their hours, view their menus, and even order online.
