Nekoyoubi says: I have been learning Japanese for a few months now and I've run across a few good apps for helping me get there. I administer a group on Palringo for that purpose and think it would be nice for someone just getting into learning Japanese to have a list of helpful apps.
Nekoyoubi's picks
  1. Human Japanese Lite
Human Japanese Lite Start here. Learn hiragana and a few simple words, phrase, and culture. This is a great preview for the full app.
  2. Human Japanese

  3. Hiragana Cards
Hiragana Cards This is a great app for quizzing yourself on the kana. You can break things up into hiragana and katakana if you haven't yet learned one.
  4. ColorDict Dictionary Wikipedia
ColorDict Dictionary Wikipedia You'll need this for the Japanese dictionary, as it's the base app. Good dictionary app all-around.
  5. Google Translate

  6. Simeji(Japanese Keyboard)
