Good, but tough to overcome screen size

I love this app and have read multiple books using it on my android phone. The features are great and it syncs perfectly with your Amazon account on your computer. For those people who don't want to spend the money on an iPad or Kindle and do not mind reading on a much smaller screen, there is no better app than this. My favorite part is the bookmark that allows me to keep track of the page I was on and then allows me to access that same page on my Kindle for Mac App that I also have.

I use this app on my Droid X and it works great. I wouldn't use it as my every day reader, but it's nice for when you have some time to kill and it syncs easily with my stand alone kindle.

For Bookworms

The size of most phones is not ideal for reading book-length content, but it's good for skimming a couple of pages here and there.

could be better

I loved the kindle app at first, but now it takes up ENTIRELY too much space on my phone and sd card, i can't update anything else and have had to delete many apps from my phone just to keep kindle updated, what a space hog. I think I'll just go buy the actual kindle

LOVE IT

Awesome, amazing, love it. Love that I can choose to sync it to my Kindle so I don't miss where I was and vice versa. Also great that my husband can download the app to his phone as well and read my books without moving my place since you don't HAVE to sync it.

The font size is perfect. Everyone I know who has been ambivalent about the app has thought the font size would be tiny, only to have me show it to them and then realize that it's not.

Great app!

The Future Of Books Has Arrived

Paper pages finally have become obsolete as virtual books make the onto my phone, which is the greatest thing that could happen for me as a student because I absolutely despise carrying books around. Now I can whip out my phone and read a few pages anytime, anywhere.

APPS I CAN'T REMOVE: LAST COMPLAINT

I have just posted about two other apps that came pre-loaded on my EVO 4g and I am frustrated that I did NOT install and I cannot remove the apps, including Kindle. Once again, I don't see how this is important in the functionality of my phone. If anyone has any advice, please, do tell.

Kindle for the Droid

As an avid book reader, I'm against e-readers but when one of my best friends published her first book as an e-book, resistance was futile. That's why I love the Kindle app for Android. I can read her book, and many others, without having to invest in an e-reader.

Great if you DON'T have a Kindle

I'm a Nook girl, but sometimes e-books are just cheaper on Amazon. I like having this app so I obviously don't NEED a Kindle to read them.

I love my Kindle but there have been a few times I forget to recharge it. This is a great alternate when that happens or you just want to be more discreet reading a great book. the sync feature is sweet!

This app is one of the best ones that I have come across. I suggest it to anyone who likes to read. I have downloaded almost 50 books for free, and the books that I have had to pay for were very inexpensive. This is just awesome.

Not so amusing

Yes, it has a lot of books. But most of them have a higher price that from other stores. I compared some books from Kindle store and Kobo store. Kobo was always at the same price or cheaper. It may not have the same amount of books, but it has all that I looked for.

I live in Portugal, I use Amazon.co.uk for shopping. I can't use Amazon.co.uk to buy ebooks. I have to use Amazon.com. At the UK store there are a lot of free classics, at the US store those same ebooks have a price. Why this happens I can't understand.

Kindle app is good, but for me, Kobo, app and store, is a lot better.

Your complete ebook library. Everywhere.

Seriously if you read a lot, why not have this free kindle app on your phone. You probably have a kindle but sometimes its not with you. With this free app you can still read all your books. Amazon's service keeps tracks of where you left off and you can continue on your phone anytime. I can't really complain, perhaps they can work on the UI some. It looks dated but so far so good. I need a phone with a bigger screen. ;).

Not a big Reader

But I gave it 4 bars just because Amazon gave us the ability to do this without the need to buy a Kindle for $139. Maybe I will read more now, but then again I am not sure about reading a whole book on this small screen I receive calls on. Well see.

Great app for reading books on your Android device. There not that many localized titles yet but when you love English books this a must have app when you are fond of reading!

Being a member of the Kindle ecosystem this is great for any time the reader has to kill by sifting through a few pages at a time. Does all the usual features like sync and bookmark.

How happy I was to tap open my new Kindle for Android, and discover the familiar books I've already downloaded on my iPhone and iPad, also there on my DroidX. Nice to know I can read Temple Grandin's "Animals in Translation" or Marc Lesser's "Less: Accomplishing More By Doing Less" on whatever device I happen to have in my hands.
